From the outside, a village chapel can look almost self-contained: stone, roof, a modest door. In Draguć, that first impression is only the beginning. Inside St Roch, colour changes the scale of the room. Your eye moves between figures and scenes, then returns to the whole.
Look before you photograph
Give yourself a few quiet minutes before reaching for a camera. Let your eyes adjust, follow the composition, and notice the relationship between the paintings and the architecture. At St Elisha, look again with a fresh eye: an earlier period speaks through different forms and colours.
A little preparation makes the visit
Arrange access in advance through local visitor information or the House of Frescoes. Ask about current arrangements and photography. These are small, sensitive interiors and places with a continuing local meaning; a considerate visit is part of understanding them.
